If you had asked me if I ever thought I’d have a family approach me with such a great idea, I honestly would have never guessed it. This family brought their ‘A’ game to this session, completed with full costumes, props and character personalities to match.

Jones Beach in Guilford, CT made for the perfect backdrop, and the overcast sky during dusk really set the tone. I don’t traditionally use my flashes or strobes when doing family sessions, but I made an exception for this shoot, and thank goodness I did. The lights really pushed these images over the edge for me and added to the dramatic tone.

If this session taught me anything it’s this: take a fun idea and RUN with it! And it’s even better when the whole family is game to dress up and take the session to a galaxy far, far away.
